If there's one thing you should know about us, it's that we at Beta Male Productions don't really like to make a big fuss about things. In fact, we hate the spotlight. We certainly don't need praise or attention. When it comes down to it, all we really want are your laughs. That's it! Just a few laughs at every single thing we say. No big deal. They don't even have to be big laughs. We're not talking guffaws here. They can be polite giggles for all we care. Or insincere pity laughs. It doesn't matter. As long as we hear some form of laughter at everything we say, that's really all we ask.
In 2012, we wrote and produced "Awesome Alliteration: The Magical Musical." It debuted in January at the SkyBox @ The Adrienne Theater in Philadelphia to rave reviews.
6 months later, having written nothing else, we decided to stage a revival production of "Awesome Alliteration" to even raver reviews. It ran for a wildly successful month as part of the Philly Fringe Festival.
From 2012 - 2018, we took a much-needed break from show business to rest, reenergize and find love.
Then, in March of 2018, we debuted "So You Want to be a Politician?" - a biting and hilarious satire that some say changed the political landscape in America forever.
In January of 2019, we produced "The Boomerang Kid" - a funny and heartwarming tale about a college grad who moves back in with his parents.
We are currently working on another musical, so stay tuned!
DAVE ORLANSKY: Dave graduated from Abington High School and studied Journalism and History at Northwestern University. Upon graduation, he became a member of the Philadelphia Teaching Fellows, and is now entering his 10th year of teaching. During his free time, Dave enjoys writing, playing the piano, and going on walks with his beautiful wife, Ashleigh, and insanely cute dog, Otto.
JOSH LEVIN: Josh is a fifth year fifth grade teacher who pleads the fifth about which school he’s spent the past five years. He’s a veteran (one class is a veteran, right?) of the sketch comedy world and hopes you find him as funny as he finds himself. As one student recently said, “I’m so excited for a year of your bad jokes!”
ZAC KIND: Zac, a fellow Abington grad, spent a few years in NYC working in set lighting for TV and film. Now he's back in Philadelphia to continue his career in his home town. When Zac isn't working, he enjoys smoking BBQ in his backyard and playing ping pong. He is so excited for the new shows and projects that the Beta Males are working on.
